Trying to figure out and decide Erevo options and upgrades
Hey all, new to the RCM Forums.
All the info and faqs and such are a great help. I just recently got my Erevo (standard edition) monday, 2 venom 3000maH NiMH mon, and Hyperion 610 duo tue, and Novaks Sentry pro last week also got some trinity tritanite speed gems without doing much research on trinity, but I'll still try them. I plan on going BL in the very near future but I'm a bit uncertain and undecided on a few things so I was kinda wondering if some of you well informed folks could help me out. Plan on getting a MMM 2200 only because 2650 seems to have a little less power ( I could be mistaken), 2 3s 5000maH zippys since the price seems good and you guys think pretty well of them, now for the undecided part, I realize that the stock erevo tx will be useless when I go BL due to the RFI, noticed most of you guys say to either go with Futaba or spectrum, I'm leaning more towards Futaba, but my main question is, is there a difference between the 27MHz, 72MHz, or the 2.4GHz 3pk, or is it just the tx module? Thanks for any and all help\opinions. |
Welcome! I'm new also.
I'm thinking Futaba 3pm...Heard that the DXR feels "cheap" when holding it, and I've always had Futaba, since I was little. (It's like a Ford/Chevy deal you know?) Well, good luck. |
I own a 3pm and love it...the manual is a bit intimidating though. 2.4 is the way to go if you can IMO...no more worrying about frequencies, range issues, etc.
Welcome to the forums as well:yes: |
I second the 3PM. I have two of them, 1 for me and the other for my son.

I've been meaning to thank you guys for replying and giving your suggestions. New question now, do I need to get a rx power pack or will the esc still be able to power the rx? Oh and I felt like spnding the extra $$ and bought the 3pk 2.4GHz system.
Also does anyone know if I can remove the stock rx fro mthe waterproof rx case or if I need to buy a new one for hte futaba rx? I guess I'll ask this also, was noticing my tires were coming unglued from the rims, and when I removed one of the rear wheels I noticed it had cracked do I need to buy a new rim or could i still use it? Thanks again for any and all help. |
If you go with the MMM is has a built in BEC that can power the rec...:yipi:

Thanks but untill I get a MMM the stock evx will do the job just fine right?
