Why did you ask if your friends are already doing it? Just do it. But don't complain about it if you smoke it.

Because they are using it on touring cars and with a123 batteries, and I want to run it on an e-maxx of 11lb and with 8s lipo........

If your dead set on it, just try 7S first, but it would probably be wise to disable the internal BEC.

There is a little device on the ESC that helps limit the back-EMF voltage (over 28v) from getting back to the batteries. Running battery voltage above that will blow this device in short order thereby removing its benefit.

Then, the FET ratings are probably only good for 30-35v, not to mention the caps and any other voltage-sensitive devices on there. So, running at more than 6s will be running really close to component limits, even taking into account the extra "headroom" manufacturers factor in for safety.

Lastly; it may run at higher voltage, but you are almost certainly reducing the lifespan...

Ok then I am going to runing on 6s, I think that the neu 1515 3d will run fine on 6s in my e-maxx........... In the future when I have an esc that can run on 8s or more I do it.........
REGARDS
