2200 Kv or 2650 Kv?
I don't know what to get  can someone tell me some differences between them? the 2650 is more for torque apps while the 22oo is more for speed? or the other way around?
The difference is that the 2200kv is comparable to a 1515 1Y neu and the 2650kv to a 1512 1y. The 1515 is a longer motor than the 1512, 2200kv is longer than the 2650kv. The 2200kv is more suitable to a Monster truck or Truggy and can be run on 4-6s Lipo. The 2650kv is better suited to a buggy on 4s. If your plan is to put this in a Revo, it is the revo section of the forum, go with the 2200kv. 4s Lipo is more than adequate unless your going for crazy speeds.
The 2650 will be fine in the Revo with proper gearing and will be more controllable, the 2200 can handle taller gearing and will be more powerful.
ya it's gonna be a 3.3 conversion. So, I'm thinking...I don't know yet, thanks for the replies though. I know I wanna go quick, but also want plenty low end.
2200kv......nothing else. Trust me...
yeah go with what ^^^^^ said.
i built a revo for my friend using the 2200 combo. we run 6s but geared it for only 40mph. so we get UBER cold temps and a resonable speed. so 6s isnt automaticly as crazy as everyone seems to think,,,just tame it down and it's a much more efficient setup. shaun |

not at all...
there's this cool thing called "punch control" and "throttle curve":rofl: just tame the power and put it where u want...and you'd never know...and on hte + side...there's power avaliable when u need it (magor correction after a crap jump) and uber cool temps. and as for blowing diffs...unless you wanna bulletproof your drive terain (w/ RCM 1/8th diffs) thjen drive MMM and revo friendly, dont mash the throttle so hard unless u use punch control. i have NEVER blown a diff EVER...even on 6s...the only people i see who blow diffs are running 4s and have the punch control as their finger...and they have lead fingers. so go figure 6s is a MUCH better setup IMO but u have to tame it down some to save the car, remember...the benifits of 6s is not only speed...but cool running and reserve power too!!!! shaun |
Thanks for all the help...what do you guys think about Losi's xcelorin esc and a 2100kv or even a 17kv, compared to the MMM? It can handle up to 5s I believe...
EVERY Losi BL system I've ever seen or heard about has had issues and their customer service isn't all that great. I haven't heard as much about the 1/8th scale as I have their smaller stuff but I would rather go with a Castle product and know that IF it breaks, you will be covered.
hi unsullied spy looks like you have used quite a few different motors whcih would u recommend?
All depends on the situation - I've pm'd you a guide to read.
thanks
the 2200kv mmm combo looks good to me |
I ran the MMM 2650 in my 2.5Revo conversion on 3 and 4s geared for about 43mph on both battery setups. I loved it. It ran super cool and had plenty of power and torque for uncontrollable wheelies if I wanted. I have sinced moved this setup to my Jammin X1 buggy and will probably end up getting another 2650 combo to put back in the Revo...
I just bought the MMM2200k last week...now i'm saving up again for some batteries (6s) and charger...this is pretty pricey.
