Gratuitous Amounts of Tire

A few days ago I ordered a set of wheels and tires from a savage xl off Ebay and they are just arriving. THEST THINGS ARE HUGE!!! Here is a comparison Between them and my AKA LPR sized Cityblocks.

THey are mostly foam and are not very heavy- but the glue job sucks hard.

Couple more pics with them on the truck.

It is now impossible for my truck to bottom out! I have not run them but i think they might be too big for my truggy.. Ill report back with a run report on them. :)

Hpi terra pins IIRC - I've just bought a set to - I'm going to try softening them up and use them on a super crawler

Correct.

wd40 works good for softening. But just removing the foams should be enough they are very plush.

those look cool! esp. that you say they are light too....i always wanted some big o tires for my emaxx, but my stock diffs cant handle the extra wieght.

Was going to try simple green...

They are cheap to 20.50 for 4...

Love those tires.

if the truck will not bottom out then you are putting extra stress on your suspension components (shocks, towers, A-arms etc...). Not saying dont try it, but just realize the risks. they are cool looking!!

Make sure you stay away from 35mph+ Im sure those tires will be a handfull at speeds higher than that. I remember my imex 2.2 puller dawgs were gigantic on my pede and they would sway very easily and flip with a brushless setup.

Nonsense, with the low COG of the truggy geared for about 50 (14t pinion) they were fine just slow to respond as the sidewalls are a mile high.

Yeah i know that it puts alot of stress on everything, but i have decided to get rid of them- it requaires a 9t pinino to do 36mph and i already chewed up one.

Its kind of a hassle to change gearing just to go bashing.. id rather have a smaller tire like badlands or something.

Just suming up that its going to handle like crap with gigantic tires...

Modding_out 04.30.2009 03:30 PM

I'll take them, how much did your pay for them?

Edit: wait did you chew up the pinion or the tire?

brushlessboy16 04.30.2009 03:47 PM

Pinion :)

x2

I put my set from my sav on my trug as a goof. Rolled over easy and swayed alot as the tires ballooned and distorted immensely. They also hit the body when i turned. Doubt I'd call this observation "nonsense"

OTOH the trug did roll right over whatever I was drving at. lol

Arct1k 05.01.2009 07:56 AM

The crawler tops out at 2mph - I think I'll be ok...
