Hello I read a lot now.... and i want to run these setups in my cars.

BUGGY: E-KYOSHO KANAI with MMM + 5s 5000mha, weight rtr is 8.15lbs
Motor: Neu 1515 2.5d gear for 40mph or Neu 1515 3d gear for 38mph

Monster: e-maxx with ezrun + 5s 5000mha
Motor: Neu 1515 2.5d gear for 40mph or Neu 1515 3d gear for 33mph

What motor the cars?? I want to kill the nitros with my buggy and the e-maxx is for bashing

Both setups should work, so I'd try both and see what you like better. The 2.5d is more suited to 5s, but the 3d should handle being geared for those speeds as well.
