Hello!
I burn 2 Mamba Monster (V2 and V3) and I sell its after return from warranty repair.
Now I run with a HobbyWing 150A and I can say that is a very good ESC!
Very very bigger, but a lot stronger that a Mamba Monster!
In a 1/8 conversion normally there is enought space for this ESC.
I buy even a LCD programmer and it is very useful because you don't need a PC to change setup and you can upgrade ESC firmware.

Regards

How long have you been running your HW150A?

orso76 05.14.2009 08:00 AM

Hello!
I buy it 3 weeks ago and I run approx 20 batts discharge.
I run with a Feigao 7XL, 4400 5S LiPo packs or 4600 5S A123 packs.

Regards

Your v3 is your 2nd MMM? u ran it at 6S?

Did you run your hw150A under race condition?

pinkpanda3310 05.14.2009 08:12 AM

I think there both good. The mmm has great service and the hw is easy to use at the track.

orso76 05.14.2009 08:18 AM

I ran alwas at 5S because I haven't 6S packs.
No, I'm not a racer but only a "sunday-racer" :-)
But I think this ESC can support a very huge stress

I see. By the way, dun even set the punch control to 0 or near 0. They will burn up. Reducing the timing seems to burn up these hw escs as well. I burnt up my HW80A a few battery packs after I changed the timing to setting 3.

And also, I did worse things with my truck with the esc running alot hotter before i reduced the timing. It was flawless. Until I had to play with the settings.

I hv race the HW esc with medusa motor esc runs cool, everything can be set, do not use auto lipo cutoff n do not set d punch to zero.

I use 4s to 6s it still runs cool:)

pinkpanda3310 05.14.2009 08:46 AM

Supertek4 do run stock timing and punch or did you change them for racing?

orso76 05.14.2009 08:55 AM

I take standard setup, because my Hyper ST run good in this way and I don't need any change:
Start Punch = Level 5
Timing = 15°

How heavy is your hyper st?

Is the drive train "bullet proof"?

What is the peak current of your setup?

orso76 05.14.2009 09:22 AM

Weight is around 5kg with battery installed.
The drive train is the standard of the Hyper ST PRO.
I don't know the exact current peak, I haven't a instrument to take a mesure when the car is running. The only thing that I can say is that my battery can give 4,4*35=154A in burst mode
