crt.5 velenion cutting out
 

I put my crt together velenion combo, 5000 2s lipo, stock spur 13t pinion. It will run for about 30 seconds well, then it goes to about half power then no power. Im wondering if it's because of my gearing. The cutoff voltage prompt keeps going on......? The battery has a full charge. I only want to run it on a track so I really want to keep it geared for 2s.

This is a regular occurrence with the Velineon's LVC. If still under warranty, return to Traxxxas for a replacement.

is the gear mesh right? it may be to tight , is the motor getting really hot in the 30 seconds?

Gear mesh is super smooth. Well hope its not defective.

Your best bet would be to buy a Smart Stop and be done with it.

given the above info , i would give traxxas a call , if it is a commen problem they will let you know what to do

edit , does the smart stop bypass the one in the esc? , if so i have a 2s smart stop i will sell cheap

Yes it does by just changing the mode to NiMh.

smart stop it is Im jonesin to run it have to go to the hobby shop today thanks for the offer on the smart stop though. Iv'e had this thing put togetehr for a month now and couldnt run it was waiting for the batteries to come in. Broke down and bought one at the hobby shop and now I still cant run it, till today that is.

i dont know if its related but when i converted my .5 i struggled with the same problum for weeks and in my case it turned out to be a brand new 3800 2s orian with a bad cell and because im a dumb ass i never checked it and move on to things like a glitch buster ,different motors ,gears ect.I never thought to check the pack because it was new and my lippo charger was willing to start and finish a charge cycle.But when we checked the indiviual cell voltage #2 was way under volt .hooked up another pack known to be good and all the low power/no run time troubles were gone! anyone need a brand new LRPx11,4.5cheap?have fun.
