Setup problem?
 
hey everyone, i was setting up my 2wd buggy today with a lrp sphere esc and a tekin redline sensorless bl motor. I went through all my esc setup modes and completed it.

right after when its supposed to be ready to go, Im not sure if my motor or esc beeps(cant tell wich one?) but it does when i apply throttle and brake. the motor does not want to spin ither and it is hard to turn the rotor when its on.

is the esc broken or motor?Or is this simply because its a sensored esc on a sensorless motor?
The motor becomes warm to the touch, so does the esc and all the wires.
Any help or advise would be greatful

Some things to take in mind, when i purchased the motor brand new it was hard to spin the rotor untill i freed it up by spining it alot. It now only makes a faint noise(as in rotor shaving against the magnet) when i spin it.

A sensored esc is not capable of running a sensorless motor, at least the last I heard. A sensorless esc can run a sensored motor just fine without the sensor plugged in though. Unless the esc is a hybrid such as what the mm pro will be or the Tekin and even Lutach's I beleive, it will not work.

A member for 3 years and you didnt know a sensored esc can only run sensored motors? Wow, did your parents keep you locked in a cupboard or what?... :mdr: :whistle:

Anyways, it is the motor that 'beeps' (phases fired out of sequence to generate an audible tone/ vibration). BL motors tend to be very notchy (especially with 4 poles compared to 2) and so are difficult to rotate by hand.

And finally, the rotor IS the magnet & shaft- if you can rotate the shaft whilst the magnet stays still, you have a big problem- more likely the bushings/ spacers on the shaft inside the motor rubbing against the bearings a little.
