what's the difference?

I've got a couple of losi 8ights i converted to brushless. I got them new on ebay as rollers. my question is this. my version is the rtr version.

what's the difference between that (the rtr) and the 2.0 and the E rollers? , I can't imagine the buggy getting much better than it is.

also, if i wanted to convert one of the rtr's to the truggy version, what would i have to do? any help is much appreciated.

btw...i just tried my new zippy flightmax 6S 25C 5000K pack on my 8ight for the first time. Holy shit :gasp::surprised:.... they act like my MA 10,000 packs, and their faster than the MA packs because of the weight.

next time flightmaxx back into stock, i'm gonna get a half a doz

Not sure about the buggies, but those maxamps 10000 packs are pretty bad. Like 7-8c, I puffed mine with well under 100amp draw. The flightmax packs are way superior, and are actually true to their ratings. Good deal, that is for sure. You may get a bad cell in 1 out of 10 packs, but for the price who can complain?

As for converting one to a truggy, it may be cheaper to just buy another roller or trade for one.

The 8ight RTR doesn't have the fancier machined aluminium shock towers, hinge pin braces etc that the 8ight race kits have. Though that is about it really. The 8 E is an 8ight 2.0 with Losi's conversion kit, and electronics bundled, which saves money over buying them separately.

Converting an 8ight buggy to an 8ight T would be pointless, and expensive, as the parts shared (more or less) are:
Front + Rear Gearboxes, braces etc
Steering rack + brace
Centre Diff Mount, and diff (and possibly the Spur?)
Radio Tray
Rear wing mount
Steering Knuckles, C-Hubs and rear Hubs.

To fully convert, you would need new:
Chassis + Side Guards
Suspension Arms (upper + lower)
Turnbuckles (all of them)
Wheels + Tyres (obviously)
Shock Towers
Body Mounts + body
Whoaah, almost said Fuel Tank! Urrrgh!
Driveshafts all round
And the list goes on (as do I:lol:)

You can probably pick up new 8T 1.0 rollers on eBay, or at shops, pretty cheap now, as the 8T 2.0 has come out.

thanks for clearing that up. i think i'm gonna start looking for an 8ight-T roller. the last losi i had before my 8ights was a JRX-2 back in the early 90's. :surprised::lol:
