my MM makes me sad
so before anybody wants to flame/ etc, my MM is far past it's warranty in time. it also has been just completely re-soldered, and has been run on 4 and 5s.
I just got my MM back from rusty xl-5, and first of all, i have to say he did quite an amazing job! but when i go to arm/calibrate it, it does the startup chime, and then the red and green LEDs flash. this is not one of the LED conditions on the other thread. I've tried resetting factory defaults, and have tried every version of firmware, but to no avail. any clue what's going on? |
Working esc > rewired/soldered > not working... hmm, not too tricky to guess where something has gone wrong
Could be a single stray strand of wire of wire shorting something- you'd need to dismantle it and take a look inside to check.... |
nope, all the wiring looks pristine. no stray strands, no dripped solder, nothing that would cause a short
|
Did you try recalibrating it to your Tx/Rx? Just a thought.
|
Any chance you could post a pic. of the inside of the esc?
|
Yes I tried recalibrating, tried different firmware
(yes I have his MM, it would be nice if he stated that) Ill get pics in a bit. |
i didnt think it was pertinent info of who actually had the MM, and thats why i hadn't bothered saying who actually had it at the time. I should be heading over there with my radio soon. It might just be his radio or rx giving him a hard time... Ben has a M8 with spektrum module, SR3000 Spektrum Rx, and access to a DX2.0(i dont know if he tried both radios or not.) I'll be over with my 2 SR3000's and my dx3.0 to see if it changes anything.
BTW, here is the link to the thread of Rusty's own MM solder Job. Mine looks just like it http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19866 |

tell us what was wrong and how you fixed it:yes: |
Actually its not all fixed.
Rusty soldered the wire to the rx connector backwards. so for shit's and giggles mike flipped the connector then it armed. Now it coggs like a mother ducker. threw the MMM off his hyper in there to test and the motor works fine. lots of grunt in a little truck. had it to 70mph up and down my street. lots of blowovers and lid skids. fun little truck. Hopefully the MM will work right tmw at the track. |

checked and reflowed all solder joints...
That little aveox is one hell of a motor! made it up to 155 degrees i think geared to high heaven. |

Could you tell me what that would be equivalent to as a neu. looks like a 1509 or so. it was geared for 74 on 3s and still kept its composure- and also flipped the truck on its back at any speed.
