My E-Jato is glitchy. Why?
 

Hey guys... I have an E-Jato that I purchased 2nd hand. I changed some things around on the configuration, but I think more work needs to be done. For NOW, I put the ESC in the rear battery compartment, but I think I'm going to relocate it to the front of the veh. The reason it's back there, is because I wanted to get it as far away as possible from my other electronics because the truck was very glitchy. Once I moved it, it only became "kinda" glitchy. Like, it won't respond to my radio commands all the time. It does so when it wants to. It'll get kind far away from me after a speed run, and I won't be able to steer it or engage the throttle. So I'll start walking closer to it and finally it'll kick in.

My receiver is in the front of the car, next to the throttle servo. My Lipo is laid across the center of the chassis in front of the CC 5700kv motor, and my Sidewinder ESC is in the battery box, uncovered, but secured with heavy duty two way tape, along with my on/off switch. The wires for everything passes under my motor, over the tranny, and into the battery box.

Do you think I really need to go thru "twisting" all the cables? I'm using a Spectrum DX3.0 radio and an SR3000 receiver. The Throttle servo is a Hitech I think, and the steering is as well. If I could get this glitching problem dialed in, i'd be a happy camper because this thing is wicked fast! I can post pix if you need them. I didn't want to post pix just yet, because it's a work in progress, and I didn't want people ripping my set up, because it's not at all set in stone!

Edit: I also wanted to say that my Jato uses the 2spd tranny. But I'm hip to converting to single speed if the truck will go as fast or faster. That way I can ditch the brakes and throttle servo, etc. That would help a bunch I think. Like I said, I bought this 2nd hand, and really don't know much about the E-Jato conversion process. I have a Nitro Jato, but was hoping this would take the place of the Nitro, since I'm growing to HATE messing with Nitro these days.

I have a Nomadio Sensor and I accidentally pinch the antenna cable and it began to develop a glitch. I was showing it off with my friend and the buggy is capable of 70+mph and it lost connection with my radio and took off and found it 3 1/2 blocks away. I would fix the problem before you put it out there. I was very lucky my rear upper control arm hit the switch and turn off the controller when it came off the standoff. It didn't hit anybody and it did a few rollover and hit the grass. I broke the front tire and esc but I was lucky.
I would wrap some aluminum foil on the wires that you wanted to isolate from the noise then wrap it with an electrical tape. It looks messy but it works, goodluck.
