is Final gear ratio important when using slip diff?
Hi,
I m driving a x2 CRT final gear ratio is 16.25 for gp.48spur n 14clutch. I m using a 50slip diff n gear ratio is out about 17.31. Spur 50 n 13pinion on 6s 5000 using 1600kv If I use 4s the final gear ratio is 11.84.spur 50 n 19 pinion on 1600kv Does it really matters? |
Well, when you are geared for more speed and apply full throttle, there is usually more torque on all your drivetrain, and more force lifting the front end.
So, this both makes the center diff diff out more and will make the slipper slip more than than it would if your truck was geared for less speed given the same slipper setting. So, in a sense, it "does" matter, but it also depends on how smooth your throttle finger is, how much punch control, etc. |
