Vid of Slash with 2.5T LT motor vs GTP Plettenberg

Here's a vid from yesterday's race. My GTP on 4s A123 vs dropped slash w/40c 2s thunderpower and rs1pro. RS1pro had a bigass fan blowing on it with a capbank, just to keep temps in check. That 2.5T motor was the kevlar wrapped ones from Lutach.

Wow!... I'm really surprised!! I was definitely figuring the GTP for the win....

If you look close, you can see the Slash leaving 2 skid marks from the holeshot! Nice!!

Yup the slash is quick. I have to use 6s A123 to beat it. Those foam tires on the slash works great as long as you do some burnouts before a launch. Check out the vids on my youtube account.

I just looked at the other videos. I'm in amazement of the Slash. He was just able to put the power down out the holeshot. Beautiful!! I'm surprised it doesn't go airborne tho... I'm guessing with it lowered down, its actiong like a touring car body and not a parachute.

It looks like the GTP and others are having trouble getting out the hole successfully, but are picking up the speed midway. What tires are you running? I think you can take him if you can cleaning leave the line.

I was using a ipanema tires in the rear and some ebay slicks in the front. I need to control my trigger finger more for better launches with that gtp. Next time around I'm swapping in the c50 6l hacker and might used cut down foam tires.

What ESC are you running in the GTP?

If its the MMM, you may want to hook up the Castlelink and create a custom throttle curve to that exponentially increase to help the hole shot instead of trying to manage it with your finger. This way you can mash the finger and the MMM will do the thinking every time.
I see in your sig it says the RX8 esc, I'm not sure if their programming can do the custom throttle curve, but its definitely something to look for. That should help you create consistent and strong launches.

I'm using the RX8 and those use throttle profiles instead. The MMM will not survive the abuse I put my stuff through. I usually race my smaller cars which are setup for these kinda of things. But whenever the GTP aka Walmart car is out, people just want to see that giant move.

You can see my other cars in this vid at around 29 seconds. You will also see the guy warming up the slash tires before the launch.

What type of profiles are loaded in the RX8?

Have you tried the MMM before tho? I have put mine through some seriously overgeared, hot motor paces and she's still ticking! If you can use it, I think the the custom throttle curve would be the ticket to your success and getting out the hole.

It looks good tho! And once again, that Slash is just blowing my mind that it actually hooks like it does and moves down the track like it does!

One more thing: I know you love the A123's. Are you running 2p setups? I think the extra weight in an additional pack may benefit the holeshot process as well as providing more continous discharge amperage.
But have you tried Lipo's before? The continuous discharge rates are off the charts now. Although you're having trouble laying the power down now... LOL

The throttle profiles are enough and you can even go further with the settings in the radio. So no laptop needed. I just have to spend the time to figure it out some more and not taking away from having fun.

If you are impressed with the slash you should of seen my Rustler back when it was running foamies. The great part of the slash, is that the owner built it the nite before he raced it. He just has to figure out the driveshaft issues.

I run 1p setups. Only my pancars run 2p mode as they suck up so much amperage.

I'm looking at the gen 3 lipos now. The ones whose ir reduces as they age.
