What Tranny And How?

Hey there all.. im new to this so bare with me but i was wondering if anyone had some good ideas or pictures of a nitro revo convertion to electric? what tranny was used? and how do you make it fit? i heard somthing about a e-revo or a e-maxx tranny fitting but i dont see how. if anyone out there has a how to please please help thank you..

Welcome to the forum, you can either browse the revo section, or just search "revo conversion" and you will find some good pics and info. I have done a few revos and think leaving the stock tranny in and using a rcm motor mount is the easiest way, You have to mod the chassis quite a bit to get an emaxx/erevo tranny in there, as the mounting spacing is quite different.

the only problem leaving the stock tranny in is that it strips alot! im running a 6cell 5000 lipos with a mamba monster esc and a neu 15152d 2050kv motor and all it does is strip no matter how you tune the esc.

I Did that too and locked my second gear but kept breaking pimery shafts instead of gears going out.. looks like the onlt way to go is either a e-revo tranny or a e-maxx one.. but i have no clue how to mount it..

Any how too's???

Dremel + eye balls + cardboard template + couple hours work = success.

This is bread & butter basics of modification, all you're doing is removing a little metal from the chassis until the new tranny fits, then make a mount for the side of the tranny that needs it so it can bolt in place- as per the pics.

If you cant figure out something so straight forward, maybe you might want to reconcider your options. A spare chassis costs about $10 on ebay should you feel the need to practice...

I ran a stock 2.5 tranny, with first removed and 2nd locked in with JB Weld for the longest! I ran it with both a Neu 1515/1Y and MMM 2650 combo. I never stripped a tranny gear.
