Shown with a 580l feigao

Good concept there! But not digging the motor/esc/lipo selection and recommendations.

4s in a 1/5th scale? geez!

BL_RV0 07.07.2009 11:30 AM

Yeah... 1450kv on 4s? That's 21460rpm... The motor mount looks like it would also have very limited motor selection, due to size restrictions.

Foxracin 07.07.2009 11:40 AM

The esc looks like a Speed Passion.

BL_RV0 07.07.2009 11:41 AM

It's a hobbywing 150a.

Arct1k 07.07.2009 12:19 PM

i.e. one and the same

aqwut 07.07.2009 12:32 PM

it would be nice if they sold the mount...

lincpimp 07.07.2009 12:33 PM

Depending on the gearing you may not want motor speed over 30k rpm, as the gas engines cannot turn much more than 15-17k rpm. So unless the gearing is way lower, high rpm motors will not work well. On the baja project, I had figured a 700kv motor on 10s lipo would work for stock speeds with a 12t pinion, 5 teeth less than the stock gas engine pinion... That was around 28k rpm...

HW makes speed passion, venom, and orion(not 100% sure on orion so don't quote me on that).

The mouth does look majorly restricting and is it just me or does that look like a plastic pinion? The plastic spur is nice as it'll keep the noise down a lot(I hate the sound of metal to metal meshing)

I doubt that 580L will hold up for very long, considering I killed one in a buggy that weighs at least 5lb less.

BL_RV0 07.07.2009 01:51 PM

IIRC it was a XTM XLB

Still need to make a thread for that buggy...

OZ-RUSTLER 07.08.2009 05:21 AM

How do you adjust gear mesh with that motor mount?

Maciolus 07.08.2009 06:19 AM

It looks like there is a slipper. Looks nice
