Not sure if they are still made though. They have been out of stock for a while. |
I think ue's got some idlers in stock , That and a g-maxx single speed conversion youl be good to go. I just bought a titanium full set of emaxx gears off ebay anyone know anything about who made them. Supposedly somebody paid $500 to have them custom made. I talked to the original guy who made the utramaxx gears and hes never heard of them. Maybe they are one of a kind or maybe I got taken. Well see when I get them in a day or 2.

i have all gears, its just that i'm trying to replace my nylon 2nd.gear for something stronger, thanks

I dont think anybody still make any gears for that tranny anymore. Maybe find a set of ultramaxx gears on ebay or somthing.

Good thing I only paid $69 total and I used paypal so if things dont work out I definatly will get my money back. I did have the guy check them with a magnet before he sent them and he says it didnt stick so either hes lying or they are made of something other than steel like the ones the guy you were talking about was selling. I almost want to say the are the first version hard annod gears ultramaxx made. I will let you know .

I got some spare UE steel idlers but I'm currently on deployment now so I don't have access to them.
|
i appreciate all the help, its just that i blow out 2nd. gear from time to time and thought if i could replace that gear then it would be bulletproof.
|
they're impossible to find. I would contact rc4wd and see if they could make you one. Otherwise some have had some luck with lubricants in the tranny to keep that second gear cooler and keep it from getting eaten.

I got my gears yesturday and they look like steel but are really not. I put a magnet on them and it did not stick. They definatly are not aluminum either. They do have the same color of my ti skids which makes me think these are true titanium gears or chromoly which is also good. I didnt notice before I couldnt use them with my single speed set up so I am not sure I am going to use them so I might resale them.
Notice the idlers are exacly like the UE idler on the top left except alot lighter. http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...e/CIMG2458.jpg |
if you decide to sell let me know

Oooh, should have mentioned that problem. I found that when I got my RC4WD set the GorillaMaxx single speed coupler was not a direct fit, I had to dremle a fair bit of material away from inside the curved slots before they would push together. Given the choice, I would dremel the Gorillamaxx part rather than attack the gears them selves.
There is one other option though: http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21856 If you ask nicely, and throw money at him, Im sure he could make you the single gear you require  |
