80 mph 1/16 scale revo
In post #31 they are claiming over 80 mph out of a modified 1/16 scale revo.
http://monster.traxxas.com/showthread.php?t=483226 Is there some official speed records by class for rc cars that there is for the full scale land speed cars? I have seen Nic Case streamliner that went 161mph on the web, but I cant remember if that was officail or just a group of guys having fun on a weekend. |
The official speed of nic case was 168. with such a light car, its possible to pull 80... just dont lose control or the little thing will self destruct at that speed :)
|
With his setup, I don't doubt it's all real. Glad to see the little bugger ripping it up so fast! If this guy was claiming it with stock ESC and motors, I would call BS all day, however with a quark 80 and hacker B series 7s, I know it's all possible.
|
Holy smokes that thing is fast!
I like twith the 1/16 that there are more options for wheels and tires being that its 12mm hubs and most cars and 1/10th wheels will fit. I think this opens the door dramatically! Like he said also, that Hacker motor he is running is good for HIGH rpms!Thats nuts! |

I saw him trying to do the trick where you put the cording over the tire so it won't baloon but foams are just the way to go. Its funny how much stuff people can cram into one of those little cars....Imagine if there was an GPS in there:oh: |
Sounds like a great setup, I don't doubt his speeds. I think a lehner 1920 may yield even more speed though.
|
I think a Neu 11 series could provide those speeds as well. Judge by the video in the Brushless forum, that mini revo is STRONG with the 11 series.
|
The neus are 4 pole while the hacker/lehners are 2 pole. Less poles = more rpms.
|
I understand.
4 pole= more power= taller gearing. However, when you max out gearing and need more RPMs, then the 2 pole is handy. |
Yep. And I understand lehners like high gearing (no heat issue)
|
Maybe I am the only one, but speed runs don't impress me AT ALL. I see no fun in it, yeah sure I will take my flux down the road for a few blasts but it gets old QUICK. Also, really...How hard is it to make a truck that small to go fast? Maybe I'll build a micro-t to do 100mph. I'll be impressed when I see a brushless 5T that can do 80mph across the sand, and not have any heat issues.

i like how one of the little kids posted a link to this thread saying we are takeing a look at this
back on topic, what does that hacker cost?, the only hackers i have everowned were the eflight ones and i wasnt very impressed ( they both failed rather quickly) |
