Question to Quark owners! Cut-off only 3.0V
Hi Guys,
My brushless LST is almost finished, I'm going to run a Plettenberg Bigmaxximum and a Quark Airmaster 125B on a Flightmax 5000mAh 30C 5S LiPo. But on my Quark the cut-off voltage can't be set higher than 3.0V. But from what I read here on the forum is that if you're running high amps set-ups you should set the LVC higher than 3.0V, 3,2V or something like that. Well, what should I do? On my Quark I can set LVC from 2.4V (I thought) up to 3.0V. I always had it set on 3.0V for in my Rustler VXL on 3S, and it always worked fine, but that car doesn't pull such high amps currents. Any advise what to do? Or how to set the LVC higher than 3.0V on the Quark? (Maybe I misread something?) Thanks, Patrick |
yeah, 3.0/cell is the highest you can go. It's actually lower amp setups you want a higher LVC, because of voltage drop is not as much as a higher amp/heavier vehicle. Higher performance cells, you want a higher LVC as well... if you catch my drift.

There is nothing you can do really, 3.0v/cell should do it for the flightmax cells, as they don't have the best voltage holding ability.
You could get something called the LiSaver, it's an external LVC that you run between your esc and receiver, which IIRC, plugs into the balance connector on the pack. Or you can just keep a stop watch if you really wanted to and just cut it off at a safe time. I rarely run a whole pack through my revo, just cuz I get bored sometimes, but mainly I want my packs to last... even going from 100% DOD to 80% DOD will GREATLY increase pack life, it can even double the useful life from them. If you only used 10% of your pack, you could get 1000's of cycles from them... but of course that would be nonsense.:whistle: |
