This is for those of you who haven't gotten a cordless electric screwdriver. Stop what you are doing and go to Home Depot and pick up this combo kit:

After getting some Axial 40 series bead locks and attempting to dismantle them by hand with a standard Allen wrench, I grew restless and very aggravated. I had a bad taste in my mouth and decided to throw the wheel in anger and frustration. But I remembered seeing those handy little cordless power screwdrivers with Allen wrench bits.

I went to Home Depot and picked up the above combo. There was another package with just the screwdriver but the battery wasn't removable and it came with a bright green Canvas bag for the same price. So I bought the combo with the removable battery and the handy power snips.

I charged it up and tried it out last night. I dismantle all 4 Bead locks in less than 10 minutes. Thats over 100 screws and pulling the tires off the rims. This made my life much easier!

I then decided to test out the snips on some older cardboard boxes I needed to can. I made confetti with these snips in no time. This thing cuts a straight and clean line. Its great for opening up those hard plastic packages and cutting just about anything. They even suggested cutting small wire meshes with it...

They come with a small single cell li-po roughly rated at 1500mah. So there's plenty of runtime. My next adventure is to figure out the charger and reconfigure it to be able to hook it up to my Hyperion... I'll contact BG on this lol.

Overall this was well worth the purchase.

I also picked up a set of metric Allen drivers from the hobby shop. they are Ofna brand. These! They are well built and seem to be tough so far. They got the Lincpimp stamp of approval. Only time will tell on how well they hold up to us and abuse. They look well built tho.

I have a corless SD already but those Ofna allen drivers would be a big help. :yes:

been using ryobi screwdriver for about two months now :) comes in black bag and no combo here.

Yeah, the other option came with the bright green bag and a non-removable battery... same price tho..

I have just always used a cordless drill with straight allen wrench piece chuced up in it for the beadlocks. Works great for me.

I used my Associated tools for the first run-in with beadlocks.

I take the driver bit out and chuck it up in the cordless drill now. What a HUGE time saver.

I am all about buying new tools, but for my use, the cordless Makita gets the job done every time. I've been thinking about picking up something like that for a while now though. Seems that the Makita easily overpowers plastic threads with the clutch set to 1.

if you want a Drill that small and light enough to work as a screw driver with your drivers the new Milwaukee M12 3/8ths chuck drill is an amazing tool... it has a clutch unlike the smaller "screwdrivers" so no more over tightening screws ever, itll keep up with my huge 19 volt craftsman drill all day long doing anything, it has a high and low setting, ultra light weight for a drill, all day runtime (about 3 hours of CONTINUOS use at work for me per battery) has a work light, 2 tiny lithium batteries and charger that knocks the batteries out in 30 mins or less, did i mention it tells you how much battery capacity it has left while your working..... i got mine for $135 at home depot best money ive ever spent on a single tool and ive got over 15g worth of tools, my 19v craftsman and 14v snapon drill sit in their boxes and collect dust now as this drill out works them both and weighs less than half....

Milwaukee is the stuff! Thats for sure. We have a whole garage or Milwaukee and Ridgid only...

The Ryobi I picked up does have a clutch with various setting including a drill setting. It also has a high/low gear selection as well.

+1 on the Milwaukee M12, Nice light weight and plenty-O power ! The best small cordless driver yet that I've found, The drill chuck is a serious bonus. I love it.

I was just using my milwaukee v28 litium drill and circular saw and swazall to day. Built a 10x20 deck. It was hot outside, I am dehydrated now! Milwaukee makes good stuff, that is for sure.

That screwdriver/snips combo does look interesting. Maybe I'll give one a try. I use a ridgid 12v li-ion 3/8" chuck drill for everything. Good enough power and the battery works a long time.

I just snapped a output in the front diff on my Summit. It took me all of about 5 minutes to disassemble the front end including the diff itself. I love this thing. I might take the whole thing apart while I have time waiting to get that output.

Those bits are great, I have the cordless driver but have been needing the bits for awhile now.

The Ofna's are holding hold well, no visible wear on the tips and I have been used them a good bit so far.
