Can i make a e-revo transmission fit on a nitro revo chassis?

Yes, i know that the holes are off, because they are 2 different transmissions. So i figured, ill cut a big piece of metal and screw it on. Then i would measure how much i would need to cut. And cut a big square in the middle of the transmission. Then drill new holes. If this did work, would anything else be a problem fitting?
Thanks :)

thanks, trying to figure out where to put stuff now, esc where old engine mount was, battery on side (make a holder), and rx in the middle (im mounting the motor in the front making a gap in the middle.)
Would you happen to have any pics?

The holes match up perfect!!!!
So next step, cut along inside line to make hole for tranny to get in
