Seems you have done most of the upgrades to the diffs, which are imp't if you want it to last. My concern is the motor. It looks small for the size and weight of the truck. what brand is it? Are you running 4, 5 or 6s? Are u using the 3905 trans in your truck? As much as I like the tires you have chosen, IMO, they are too big and heavy and will put undo stress on your drive train.

Your truck looks nice...Sorry if I seem to pick it apart, just trying to help. I had a maxx and spent thousands upgrading it to sell it in the end.

That looks like a FD L can. That motor/esc will not handle those tires. Have you upgraded the transmission (locked in 2nd, steel idler) or is it stock? If it is stock, those aforementioned mods are mandatory. IMO get the gmaxx single speed kit, a strobe sprong (if you can find it) and a RCM idler. If you want to hang on to those wheels and tires, ditch the mtroniks esc and the FD motor in lieu of a MMM 2200 combo. That'll move that sonofabitch nicely. Also consider upgrading to 5s if you get the 2200 combo. If cost is an issue, you can buy one of the refurb combos (refurb esc and new motor) for $225 from CC's site. There's a thread on it in the CC forum. Check that out. Also, go 2.4ghz if you are not already. Hope this info helps.

Mtroniks... are you from the Uk fella?

The Mtroniks motor is basically a blue can feigao, a Nemesis unless its sourced from elsewhere (rather oldschool). Shame its not the the larger version with an XL can motor, but its a good basher setup if geared correctly. The Mtroniks esc is roughly equal to an MM, so something like 80-100amps rating.

What diffs are using exactly, its hard to tell from the pics?

What gearing are you running?

I would suggest loosing the comedy BigJoes in favour of something a bit more usable (yes, I am a hypocryte everyone..)- something like stock 3905 rims and tires, or zombiemaxx rubber even (nice aggressive tread). That will reduce the stress on the esc and motor. The muchers are pretty good though, great for grass I hear.

Beyond that, it looks pretty sound.

I say get a mono block or the extended version g-maxx upper rear plate an skid. It will make it more stable at speed and fly better in the air off jumps of course. Are those tires glued allready? if not get some bowties or somthing a little smaller. The 23 mm wheels are good. In fact I want a black set of those for my build. Nice build btw.

dartboi01 07.24.2009 05:28 AM

the big joe's are just for show i have some bowties to run on and yes it is locked into 2nd gear and again i am from the uk suffolk to be precise the diff's are spider diff's front and rear. Thanks for info guy's it really will help.

suicideneil 07.24.2009 06:48 AM

Spider diffs = means nothing, all diffs have 4,6 or 8 spider gears inside, unless 'spider diffs' is a specifc brand or something that no ones ever heard of

Some close up pics would be more useful, or a link to where you got them?

Welcome to the forums! Nice build. He is running 4s TrakPowers right? I would echo what everyone else is saying to change out the motor. Do you have a stell idler in the tranny? if not you will with a better motor.
