quark125 li-po setting?
im reading my manual for my quark125.there are 2 choices :
Li-Poly High ● ● Select when the Battery is compatible with the voltage in use. Faster throttle response time and increased torque compared to when Li-Poly Normal is selected. OR Li-Poly Normal ● Select when the Battery capacity and discharge rate are lower than voltage in use. Slower throttle response and lower torque than when Li-Poly High is selected. which of these settings u guys normally use? the batts are 5000mah 2s1p 20c 7.4v turnigy batts.and im running them in series. |
Based on that 100amp output potential, I would use Lipoly Low, sounds like punch-control essentially. If the lipos stay nice and cool (100-110*f say), then try it on the high setting, and compare temps; lipos shouldnt excede 120*f, if they do its a sign they arent powerful enough for the task at hand..

If they are hard cased lipos, that would make getting an accurate temp rather tricky- best you can manage would be to point the temp gun at the wires/bullets as they exit the case to see if they are overly hot, but in general you could just run the gun over the length of the lipo to check the average temp, and look for hot spots.

ok i finally got the batts and charger from hongkong..
i got the turnigy accu6 charger and turnigy 7.4v 5000mah 20-30c ,the thing is they sent me all these connectors and none will work with the connector that the battery have.ill be changing them to deans anyway, but how do u charge the battery for the 1st time?do i charge them like the regular sub-c battery>?or i just need to connect the balancer on the side and it will charge that way?or i need to connect my deans connector to the wires they provided?im totally new to this so pls bear with me thanks! |
Charge them like you would normally with lipos: Hook them up to the balancer and charger and set the charger for a 1C rate (5A in your case). I assume you'll be running the 2s packs in series? If so, charge them that way too and set the charger for 4s. Lipos typically come with at around half charge, so the first time will take less time and will take less mAh.
|
so i can charge them with my Y- harness?
then set the number of packs to 4s instead of 2s?with charging in series will it be 5A still? |
If you are charging two 2s 5000mAh packs in series, then yes, set the charger for 4s and 5000mA (5A).
|
so just put those setting in my charger and im set?
4s 5000mah 5a? |
Yup. Just make sure you have your balance adaptor wired right and away you go!
|
what about the balance taps ?theres only one for 2s.can u charge with out balancing?
|
There is a special harness you can buy or make for balancing the 2 packs whilst charging:
http://www.scriptasylum.com/rc_speed...2s2s_wmain.gif I would always balance charge, no matter how many cells there are or the quality of the packs. |
