is this an OK choice??

The only motor and batterie i have is a castle/Neu 1515 2200Kv and an hyperion 3300mAh, 5s lipo, i know it's a little crazy for a crt.5, but is this motor can fit in this little truck??
The only missing item is the RCM motor mount, but i want to know if i can fit this motor in my truck?
I know i'll have to place shim under the center diff mount, but for the rest of the fitting process, is all will fit fine?

Thank you!

David

It should fit without any shims under the diff. The length may be to much though. Do you have a battery box already on the chassis? That's a lot of battery to mount on such a small chasssis, unless you have Mike's chassis

If anything, can length might be an issue seing as the windings come out the rear of the motor rather than the side like a CC Neu.

I believe he is running the CC/Neu...

Look, this is the CC Neu i have:yes:

And i don't have the RCM chassis but for the pack, if i put it on it's side, i'll mount it easily.
You're sure that i can mount a CC Neu finned can without shim under the center mount?

I have the rcbros.com conversion, similar motor mount to rcmikes. if it is in the stock position, you have around 90mm from the plate to end of the chassis so it will fit that way. my motormount is 38mm tall, which puts the middle of it, at 19mm. so if all my math is right, the radius of your motor is 22mm. which means you will have to raise your motormount up 3 mm, or carve room in your chassis(not a good idea) for it to fit.

If you dont want to do that, if the 1512 in your slash is not finned, it might just fit without any modifications.

here is a pic of my mount, to put things into perspective, and see if it applies to you

My motor mount will fit a finned Neu or Castle/Neu without shims. :)

Thank's alot, but i don't have my 1512 anymore...;-(

So maybe i'll simply grind the fin on my 1515 motor, or as you said, rise the center diff mount.

Ha OK Mike, you place you answer before me!

So good, i'll only drop the CC/Neu right on your mount.

Thank's!

Wow! a 2200kv in a CRT.5? A little extreme there! I love power tho!!!
