Just thought i'd stop by...

...and let you guys know wuts been goin on with me and my recent projects. well its pretty much official. im out of r/c and no offence to you guys or anything but i actually have left over money now every 2 weeks when i get paid. I have now fully gotten into 1:1 cars and im loving it to death.

Just sold my 92 saturn sc2 as seen in these pics. "which was hard for me to do because it ran perfectly and only weighed 2200lbs so it was pretty damn quick with a 1.9 dohc....

But I did manage to pick up a really sweet 88 3b rotary 1.3 mazda rx7 with 58k miles after i sold the saturn and spent the saved money I had set aside. As you can tell from the pics its currently in primer mode and will be jet black after im finished. rims will be straight or jet black aswell. Im also looking for bigger rims/tires and a downforce wing.

You're saying 1:1 cars are less expensive then RC?

A single part can cost as much as a whole rtr kit or more... You can put thousands into a 1:1 car and still have stuff to do.

its about the same beleive it or not. as long as your avoiding the heavy mods such as turbo/supercharger kits, ported heads and intake mani's, ported pistons etc.... i am currently sticking with lighter/midrange mods such as cold air intake, new exaust, running premium fuel with lucas octane booster shots, cleaning the intake mani and throttle body, running eridium plugs with premium spark wires etc... those little things can really add up to some good hp gains. i am trying to save for a garret 14b turbo setup as of right now and im in the process of prepping the engine but i still have to paint the car, buy a wing and reinstall the trim back on before i do that.

no way man. my friend might be getting a free mint foxbody mustang gt downforce wing for free and im going pay him 50 bux for it. by the looks of it, it shouldnt take to much cutting/modding of the wing to make it fit right.

Good to hear from you. Nice looking car there I like it! I too was going to stray away from the hobby to paintball/airsoft(competative not backyard things, like state to state matches) but like a lost dog found my way back to rc. Best of luck with the new hobby!

Yea I know I was just giving you a hard time. I have always hated those wings on the gt cars though. There to big.

blueb8llz 07.31.2009 01:53 PM

i have a feeling you'll come back to the rc hobby. its just waaaay too addicting. my longest break was about 8 years. and that was a real break. i thought i was done with rc myself. no looking at magazines, forums, anything.
but now im back in action for a good 3 years now.

well, enjoy your new hobby though...its what keeps us sane.

jzemaxx 07.31.2009 02:20 PM

LOL...1:1 cars are ALOT more. I know, the companies I own build parts for the manufactures...and they are not cheap.

BL_RV0 07.31.2009 04:25 PM

Good to hear from ya, ryan...

lincpimp 07.31.2009 04:32 PM

I know the feeling, I need to take a break from RC, I am selling some of the unused stuff I have here to pay for my gun hobby. Guns go up in price, and if you buy carefully you can make money on them too. Plus I enjoy the technical challenges of improving the actions and triggers. Yeah, add amateur gunsmith to the list of stuff the pimp does! LOL!

well bad news.... was on my way to a friends house and EAA is in town so traffic is heavy. got sideswiped by some guy in a green buick and he took out my side.

collecting the insurance money and fixing it myself...
