6s in a stampede
would a feigao 6s be to much for a pede? ive heard of pedes with hacker 8s doing 50mph rolling wheelies, and hitting over 60mph. it would only be run on 7 or 8 cells so i think it might be similar to an 8s. i currently have a novak 5800 and its incredibly fun and really quick, its just impossible to resist more power.

i doubt that it would be to much for a pede and it would certainly would be fun to drive.

What feigao6s are you talking about?

The Feigao 6s wouldn't be a very good motor for a 'Pede. It really isn't that great of a motor for any 1/10 vehicle. The Feigao 540 8s would be a better choice, or a Feigao 380C 6L would also work.
There is another 6 turn Feigao motor, the 380C 6t. |
but it isnt called a 6s by other people is it?
|
Not by anyone I know. The Feigao 540 6s is the only one that I know that could be called the "6s".

i dont think it would have enought torque thus it would heat up rather quick although im not sure.

Well, its kt (torque constant) is low, and to produce a good amount of torque it requires a LOT of amps. This means that you need good batteries, but even with good batteries runtime might become an issue. rtsbasic can fill in the details of this setup that I have left out, as he did run this motor for a while.
Basically, the 6s wouldn't be a good motor for a 'Pede, especially one with larger tires. The Feigao 380C 6L would provide plenty of torque and power, with a lower amp draw than the 6s, and still be pretty fast. |
that makes a lot of sense now. thanks a lot. if i go with the 380c 6l what would be a good gearing? and how much slower would it be compared to an 8s?
|
You may need to experiment with gearing. If you bought a 6-pack of Robinson 48p pinion gears, you could try anything from 16t-26t or 15t-25t in even or odd increments. This is what I did, and I will have to figure out the gearing on my Rustler. If I had to take a guess, I would think stock gearing (18/87) should at least be a good starting point. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that the motor could get hot from being undergeared or overgeared, which is why I suggest a set of pinions that you can experiment with.
The380C 6L should be slightly faster than the 8s due to its higher kv. It may actually end up at the same speed since it is a smaller motor. But, it might feel like it accelerates faster, which is due to the smaller rotor. |

are you tryin the same motor in your rustler? let me know how it works. this motor might not happen for a couple months its still just a plan, and im still poor |
