My E-Revo Build Thread
Just got this in the mail today. Traded a Losi Micro Desert Truck and $60 for it all. Dont think I got hurt to bad.
It is a 2.5 Revo roller that has a the old E-maxx trans and battery holders. Has a brand new set of Proline 40 series Dirt Hawg tires and wheels. Dynamite 23mm adapters. Brand new MIP CVD's. Brand new never used Tower Pro MG995 servo. Not sure what body it is but it is thick. Bran new Proline Wing and some kind of custom wing mount. Has a extra NIP Front bulkheads, Random pushrods, 2 big brushed motor(not sure what they are) Few extra a-arms and some random other stuff. Here are some pics. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...-Revo/Revo.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...Revo/Revo5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...Revo/Revo6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...Revo/Revo7.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...Revo/Revo3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...Revo/Revo2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...Revo/Revo4.jpg My plans for it are to get a E-Revo chassis and wing mount, CC MMM 2200 setup, Already got some lipos that will work, Maximizer Beadlocks with Badland tires and a Proline slipstream body, Tekno sway bars and some other things here and there. I am probably also going to get one of the Proline Razorback quad bodies and make it like the Revo Traxxas did. Im not a big fan of the quad bodies but the one Traxxas did just look awesome and I am a big diehard quad fan. I am going to make like a miniature version of my 1:1 quad. It will probably be a slower build so stay tuned. I am going to sell the wheels, tires, and adapters if anybody is interested. Would also trade them for some stuff. |
Looks good. Get a black wing too :)

If your going to be running that 2200 your going to need something to sure up the driveline. Hyrid diffs, hardened gears/aluminum cases work well but you cant beat the bang for your buck of the lst diff mod...
|
Drop a 3905 trans in it as well w/a center motor mount to optimize balance

The diffs will have to wait for a little while. I will change them out whenever I break it. Looked it over a little more today and it has new front and rear bumpers, the aluminum steering arm deal, and the Traxxas extended wheel base rear arms. |
epic deal!
finally another person using the 2.5 chassis...they rock! yeah use a 3905 tranny but you might consider the E-revo motor mounting system...it lowers COG but so far i thin the E-maxx motor mounting is stronger, as in less plate bendage. sorry if that is a bit confusing. looks liek a great build :D |
Thats a KershawDesigns motor mount and motors, probably 650-700 sized, you could flog those for a pretty penny on fleebay or the traxxas forum

Well it looks just like the 700 kit they have for the E-maxx. Same pinions and all. How much does everyone think I could get out of the Kershaw 700 Motors, Kershaw Mount, and the E-maxx transmission. The transmission has the Robinson steel spur gear on it also.
|
Stick it on fleebay as a 'kit', let the bids roll in- costs $70 new for the mount and motors, so maybe a $20 starting point, or you could sell them with the spur included, or even with the tranny to make it a drop-in type affair. Any money you make is a bonus really, to go towards the erevo chassis & tranny.
|
Well I sold the motors and trans one RCTech for $55 so I have about made my money back already. lol Now I can get me a chassis
Found a new Proline Stunt Steve guy for the Quad body and get it for $10 shipped. Cant beat that. Now to just get the quad body. |
Just won me a E-Revo chassis on ebay. Also got a Tekno sway bar kit coming. Slowly but surely.
|
Got a new Proline Razorback Quad body on the way.
|
Hope you plan on dying your chassis, may as well since it is bare! Unless you prefer the gray, regardless now is the time to think about it! Looking forward to your build!!
