So a couple weeks back i picked up a traxxas slash, bone stock, and i ahve been reading and reading about how people are spending 50 and 60 dollars on cvd's that break and twist and i get thinking- So a week or 2 back i was at my local track and they were getting rid of all of there old- very old stocks in the "1 dollar box" i found a New in package set of MIP CVD's for a traxxas trx-3, precursor to the rustler xl-1, then xl5, then vxl, then slash. they have been sitting in my toolbox until earlier today where I had a "what the hell, why not moment" and wanted to see if they would work with my slash.. Perfect fit. even the shimming for the trx-3 was spot on to that of the slash. I found it funny that they have made it almost 20 years on the same basic design with minor changed..:neutral:

I think its time for traxxas to design a completely new car.... one that doesnt use parts in which the thread lock has solidified into a brick...

Traxxas rarely does anything "new." They just freshen up an old design, hype it up, and it sells huge numbers. The good thing is that, as you've proven, parts are always easy to find.

Interesting... Is that all you found in the $1 box? I would've bought it all and went right to eBay... :lol:

yeah traxxas dont really make anything new...from a racers point of view they arnt all that good. revo is awsome concept and works great....but it isnt much of a truck any more. i think people miss that, the original 8 shock monsters battling it out on the track, traction roll on every corner and completely sucking etc.
i miss that too but i'm great full i have a truck at least.

one thing traxxas has going for it is aftermarket support....it compensates for a few of traxxas's cock ups lol

yeah for a dollar i could really care less what i do with them... they are better then the stock sliders and that is all I care about.:yes:

Ill give you $4 for them so you double money. Did they have anymore sets?

Ill check what other good stuff I can find in the 1dollar box.

and Im keeping them :)
