this is how a brand new RX8 looked like
 
This is what i received as factory sealed brand new ESC from Towerhobbies
ESC is dirty, missing MODE button, no motor/battery wires, very bad soldering job with cut off wires.
Package looked factory sealed.
Did clean the soldering job but ESC is dead.
Mail sent to support, but this looks like VERY BAD quality control.

I sent mails both to tower and tekin. Worst thing is that the ESC was for a fellow racer who paid for express shipping and this is what arrived.

ESC did not have clear wrap around it just a seal on opening tab - the seal however did not have any logo on it.

It is my first ESC I ordered before I bought only combos that came in a paper box

If Tower Hobbies sent me that kind of CR*P, I would be on the phone getting one overnighted (no matter what it cost them!). It would be tha last thing I ever bought from them (20+ year Tower customer) if it was not taken care of immediately.

does anyone know if the rx8's always had a fan on them? the one at my lhs is still sealed in it's package and i was gonna buy it but noticed it was missing.

anyone know for sure?

Wow...I agree w/what was said above that if tower sent me that after being a customer for more than 10yrs myself, heads would roll.

Unimagineable. Can't believe any decent company to have that kind of QC. Must be a disrespectable guy did this, could be a Tower guy?

Bottom line though is that it just needs to be fixed. Clearly it was a return and wasn't checked.

We're taking care of it regardless.

The fan is in the box, it must be intalled during assembly.
