A sad day to be an MMM
Well today is a sad day . I put my batteries into the MMM and flipped the switched on. I heard the start up tone, then it just stopped. I opened the case to find a microchip had partially melted and a pin wasn't on it. I believe it was the BEC circut chip. I circled it in red. I have never seen this happen to an MMM, any thoughts? BTW I was running 6s in my revo and its a V3.1.

In warranty?
Yep I sent an e-mail to castle. Its 1 year right?
Yep.
Ok good, how long does it usualy take to be repaired? I've never had an Castle product break before.
IDK, I haven't either. I'd guess a few weeks?
Bout 4 or so weeks. Depends on how business is/how many ESCs and stuff are being fixed but generally 4 weeks.
Ok thanks guys. Now I'm freaking because I cant find the reciept
Buy it from a hobbyshop?
Ordered it off the castle website
Hmmh. Maybe you can contact them, give them your number and e-mail. See what they say. If there is anything on the box (if you have it) and see if you can dig up maybe a bar code or something. But best bet is to call or email Castle (very quick on the draw for emails).
You should still have the email receipt... Just reference your order # in the service form and that should do it.
It shouldn't matter that you can't find the receipt. If you ordered from us, we'll have a record of it.
I found a ups verification shipment e-mail for the MMM (doesn't have an order number, just says when it shipped) would that work? Patrick, thankyou for telling me that, im not in a panic anymore :yipi:. So should I just call or email to get the record?
Wow, I've seen stuff like that but it's usually from lightning or overheating. Not that it matters, just thought it was a neat component failure.
Jeff PS sorry for your loss. |
