Picked up a new truck
proud owner of a Slash now. Just got back from the LHS, was supposed to make a deposit on the Slash, but ended up paying the full amount ($250). :whip:
Dang...I shouldn't have done that. The fiscally responsible thing to do would have been to wait until next payday and then pay for the rest later. Talk about buyer's remorse. :( Oh well...going to be racing this one on 20SEP. Don't have much planned for it aside from a waterproof VXL setup. Should be nice. That is all. :mdr: |
beware of the vxl speed control. i have one and it has been nothing but trouble. hopefully the newer waterproof ones are a little better.

Yeah, I hate VXL ESCs. the startup on them is horrid. I think there was a thread about the new waterproof VXL ESC, stating that is has the same internals as the original VXL, but with a waterproof case.

Case in point, sold a friend of mine a VXL system over a year ago, and it's only going out now. Poor thing has been through a ton of abuse...first from me and now from him. :whip: IMHO, they're decent speed controls. The biggest flaw they have is IR. And size. |

My biggest wish for the VXL is that they would eliminate some of the resistance. And perhaps add some programability. One of the most eye-opening things was when I soldered the motor wires direct to the PCB. Wow...that really woke it up! :mdr: |
