Double brushless Hobao Hyper 8's
Here's couple of my Hyper 8's, one built for onroad and the other for offroad.
(well the onroad isn't quite finished yet, but driveable already. The offroader: http://janezki.pic.fi/kuvat/RC_stuff...jpg/_small.jpg http://janezki.pic.fi/kuvat/RC_stuff...jpg/_small.jpg Running with MMM, NEU 1515 1.5Y, Tekno RC elektri-clutch, mechanical brakes & 6S lipo. Short video from the first run can be seen here. Just some tarmac testing, didn't want to get it dirty just yet because I have to do some adjustments... :mdr: The onroader: http://janezki.pic.fi/kuvat/RC_stuff...jpg/_small.jpg http://janezki.pic.fi/kuvat/RC_stuff...jpg/_small.jpg This one needs some kind of body posts - have to fix something up. When finished should look something like this: http://janezki.pic.fi/kuvat/RC_stuff...jpg/_small.jpg Running with MMM, Tekno NEU 1515 1Y and twin 2200mAh 6S lipos in parallel. Video from the test drive here. (destroyed two slicks... :P) |
I really like your onroader. Great vid man.
|
Spin brakes..... I like both cars!
|
Thanks guys!
The onroader is so fast that it frightens me, hence the "emergency" braking - even though it wasn't going full throttle yet. Have to find a bigger spot to do some speed testing when I get the body on it's place. |
Here's a clip from today, jumping the buggy from small ramp plus few speed runs.
|
Nice builds ! I especially like the on-road body,Looks killer on the buggy.
|
It's pretty nice - allthough it's originally for rallygame, but this one's for street only.
Brainstormed the body posts today. At first I thought I'd order bunch of different posts and see what would fit the best, but then I decided to see if I had any suitable/moddable parts in my storage and yes - the rears are Savage long posts and the fronts were modded from a part of Rustler/Pede wheeliebar with double buggy rear posts. :mdr: Attached the Revo Exo-Carbon wing too... http://janezki.pic.fi/kuvat/RC_stuff...jpg/_small.jpg http://janezki.pic.fi/kuvat/RC_stuff...jpg/_small.jpg The rear is a bit "blank" at the moment, have to see if I could think of something. Also, the suspension travel will be very limited. Hoping to have a test run tomorrow. |
|
Yes, I was thinking of exhaust system of some kind (sticker/pipe), but that particular one might be a bit too bling for my taste.
|
I agree, Using the LED is a bit much. But the tip alone would like pretty decent ?
|
Buggy was sold away just after those two test runs. The buyer was very eager to have it, so I (probably) made a good deal.
I haven't yet been able to make a decent run with completed onroader. |
Had a chance to drive the onroader properly last weekend and what a speeder it is!
Need something to support the front of the body at high speeds though, a foam bumper maybe. Because of wind resistance the front does "bend" under and hits ground (and tires), mayde a nice big crack to the body already... Very short driving video can be seen here. Have you heard rc car tires screaming before? :intello: |
Nice vid man.
My tires scream untill they explode. |
Damn dude! That is one badass onroad buggy! Looks and performs awesome!

Cool, that looks a lot like mine but your wing is much cooler than the stock one, also I notice that you changed the bonnet grills between the photos and the video they look much better now how did you do them? I like your wheel and tyre choice too, I was after some black Hockenheim style rims myself but couldn't find any, I even bought a white set and tried to die them but the die didn't take and I was left with a set of white rims with off-white patches, who makes them? and what tyres are they? they look just the right size to fill the arches, as you may see in the pictures I have tried road rages and medial pro tarmac2 with the body, the road rages overfill the arches and are unbeliveably F&*^ing sh1t tyres as well and the tarmac 2s are awesome tyres but so low profile they look a little lost in the arches.
