RTR 1/8th brushless buggy now available from MRC

http://www.modelrectifier.com/search...w.asp?ID=10155

Model rectifier has had this on their site for awhile as "Coming Soon" and now they are available.

Seems like probably has an EZ-run system or clone. Comes with a pair of 4000mah 2s lipos, no word on the C rating. Variable damping big bore shocks. The center diff is actually contained in a diff case, not sure how that will work out.

Definitely won't be a racer, but for a casual driver might turn out to be a decent vehicle. Truggy should be soon to follow, still says "Coming Soon".

I scoffed at it as I usually do, but rtr. lipos, radio and all, nice xmas gift. just need a charger. I think you may have found my xmas gifts

I just looked at the exploded diagram and the center diff case actually has others gears in it for further reduction. Not sure about that one, seems like it would just be more gears to wear out. Unless there is some advantage I'm not seeing? More gearing options maybe?

Wonder how the lipos are?

Parts support will be another issue. I have a Team Academy buggy and it's hard to find parts at online shops, and impossible at LHS. MRC carries all the parts but they aren't cheap usually.

Yeah, definitely has a transmission.... Not sure thats good. Probably need it for that 2700kv motor.

So Chris...your impressions. I did not read the article...hence why I am asking

Not for me, but I like that more electric 8th scales are coming out.

I didn't get to use the car on the track - Track commentary was done by Greg V...

It looked like an OK entry basher... It did what it said it would do - Plug in and hit 50mph which isn't terrible...

simplechamp 09.05.2009 01:41 AM

What do you think about it having the enclosed case for the center diff and including an actual transmission?

From the pictures and exploded view, the center transmission box seems fully enclosed. So, how does the BL motor power the center transmission if there are no external gears?

well, it's not fully enclosed. There is an opening where the pinion hits the primary...........

I still don't see the opening in the pictures or the exploded view: http://www.modelrectifier.com/resour..._Breakdown.pdf

But I'll take your word for it cuz you can't hit 50 mph free wheeling

_paralyzed_ 09.05.2009 04:32 PM

I don't care for the design. No spur adjustability?

jayjay- I'll take mine in blue
