Has anyone tried the Proline V3 Tires ?
I was curious because I am contemplating buying a couple sets and was wondering if the extra cost is worth it ?
Do they make much of a difference, do guys at the track complain about a unfair advantage etc etc ? |
did and did not find a track where they would work. just too much grip on the rear

My local tracks tend to be dry and slightly dusty, on race day it's not a whole lot better.
With that in mind do you still feel the same ? Thanks |
yes I do. however it really depends on your car setup. I have lot of traction on my D8 as it is quite heavy car (about 150g heavier than other buggies) and more traction on the rear limits my turning.
firts try play with different threads and compounds. try Proline CALIBERS they work great on hard and dusty tracks. they actually work great on quite a lot surfaces. along with Revolvers they are my two favorite treads. I like holeshots but I got tired of going through set of M3 tires every 20 minutes on hard packed track - the grip was however great. |
I ben using the crimefighters and Calibers with great success, I appreciate your input but just for giggles I might try a set in the Revolver tread. I can always use them for practice if not I'll ebay'em slightly used ? Holeshots are awesome but their toast after 4-5 packs. I have no problem buying tires just not that frequently !

I have a set of revolvers which are V3 in the rear. However, I got M2, which was a mistake because it was too hard. On an outdoor track with a mix of loose and hard packed dirt, they were ok, but did not feel very responsive, i guess due to the extra weight. The V3's mounted are 137g each.

I tried the revolvers in M3 V3. They were good on the days where traction was down. I actually wound up running them all the way arround on all 4 wheels. Lost a little turning, but on a rutted track they were more consistent than the narrower standard tires.
Not an all the time thing IMO, but a nice tuning option when conditions call for them. |
i run v3 revovlers in m3 on a track much like the one you described, dry and a little dusty, but very blown out. the car is WAY more stable but as others have said you will loose a bit of turn in. never enough to bother me and the added stability in the super rough stuff was great.
