stripped e-maxx ring and pinions
i run a 7xl set-up and my diffs dont stand a chance(i must of replaced them 5 times now), i know i can get the aluminum diff case and diff cup, but i wanna know if anyone here has done this and stopped stripping all together cause if not ill just get the 7.5 ultramaxx diff set-up.

If the money is not that big of a concern - i would go with the supermaxx diffs - I have them on my Gmaxx and my diffs have taken everything i can throw at them and not a single problem. Maybe someone running Alum diff cup and cases to chime in...

i would go for the flm hybrid bulks with the hb lightning diffs. there stronger than the supermaxx and are more helical cut.

The aluminum cups help out. if you runs some good size tires they will still fail. If you run alot of cells they still fail. If you run a tightslipper they fail. The best solution is the 7.5 diffs. ue or the flm hybirds. They are a lot tougher. I tore the gears out the stock a few times with the 7xl.
With the aluminum cups and flm housing. |
I can't speak for the other diffs but my UE 8 spyders had not given me a single problem. I'm very happy with them. I've run them with the HV-Maxx and now an 8XL on 5s lipo. I just opened them up recently and they still look great, clean and smooth.

thanks alot for the input. i have a good idea what im gonna do.
I do have huge tires (7inchers), i run 16 cells and have no slip whatsoever. |
those huge tires kill the diff.

I would use the FLM hybrids with the UE 8 spyder diffs. I think that would be the strongest combo available from what I have read. I tried the Ofna 6 spyders first and the rear one went in 4 days. But I will admit I was beating the heck out of it with the slipper full tight. LOL
