Conversion questions

Just a couple of questions, first off i have a 2s and 3s turnigy pack, they are both the same discharge and mah,i haver a turnigy accucel-6 charger. Can I charge the packs, aswell as run them together by using this connection ? http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...ad_(2_x_3S)6S_
Also i will be running 5s with the mamba 2200kv motor and the original 47t spur on my savage 4.6 conversion, and probably a 20t pinion. Will the hpi 20t pinion hold up ok?
Also at the moment i have the 2 speed tranny, now for it to hold up,will i only need the "HPI Idler Gear 44t/Shaft Set",to convert the tranny to one speed and it should hold up right??

The connection your looking at is for 2 times 3s batteries. You have a 2s and 3s, yes? This link should help explain some of what you want to know http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=932319

Thanks i have cleared that part up, btw yes,i have a 2s and 3s.
So it would be great if someone could clear up my other 2 questions so i can buy the parts asap.
The reason why i want to know if the hpi pinion will hold up on 5s ,is because for a mod1 it is like $50 to Australia, since postage is like $38.
Seeing that my packs are 5000mah with 20c rating, they will be ok for a 20t pinion right?Or will i need to get a lower tooth count pinion?

I expect they are the same pinions as used in a flux ( with rebadged mamba system ), but don't quote me on that.

http://www.scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/_top_speed.html This should help with what gearing to choose.

those pinions like to wear out when used with steel spur gears. as long as you stick with plastic spurs, that pinion will be just fine.

Ok well tell you the truth i need to buy a new spur as my 47t ahrdened one is stripped.(dont ask me how).So i guess i will order a 47t plastic.

you really don't need a steel spur gear. mod1 gearing is very durable and plastic will not wear out pinion gears. it will also be quieter when running.
