6s!!!!! You can gear down if too fast!

6s...

6s for that kv, if you are playing with it, if you are racing it would probably be fast enough on 5s. You could always play around with the gearing.

I would say 5S if your planning on racing it. 6S would be way fast for a track.

And why 6S hardcase? Do you have to use hardcase? It will make your battery hotter than if it were soft cased. By about 10-20 degrees. If you can do so, I would forget about the hardcase and choose the JUST AS SAFE OR SAFER alternative. Hardcases are for sanctioning bodies like ROAR to use as a disguise for safer batteries. Not necessarily safer by any means. And you will save a lot of money with the soft case too.

Get a 6s(or 5s)5500, 4200mah, or 3300mah Hyperion G3 pack, 4200mah/6s is $200 and a hair under performance to the 40C TP packs.

Here is a 3300mah/6s VX (35C) pack that RCM sells here.

Why are your soft case Lipo's breaking? If they are failing due to sliding out of your battery tray or moving around too much during driving, Your battery tray is to blame and not your soft case Lipo's. This is usually the case because some battery trays are not designed properly and don't strap the pack down good enough.

I was saying that the "safer alternative" to hardcase Lipo's is soft case ones, because they are able to run cooler and damage can be seen before it gets out of control.

Go 6S, but you could easy run 4S on a track with that Setup if you wanted longer runtimes and good speeds...

lincpimp 09.29.2009 03:38 PM

I would stick with 5s, lighter and easier to package especially if you plan to go with the hardcase lipos. I would go with the hyperion g3 35c lipos if it was my setup, and money! Just make a good solid battery tray that covers the sides/ends of the lipo completely.

I have tried that, but in the last year i have damaged 4 soft case lipos, if i'm ending up with soft case lipos i'll think i make a bullet proof battery tray.

4S is not an option its no fun, tried that. Tried with 5S and that whas more fun, but i wonder how it wil be with 6s:whistle:

What do you guys use to build your battery trays?
