Spur wobble

Hi all. I am new to the forum and the slipperential. Just bulit a 46t for my
RC8. There is a wobble in the spur gear when I spin it. It went together
Ok except for one of the teflon pads was tight and didn't want to sit flat.
Has anybody had this problem and if so whats the fix ? Thanks

The Teflon bushing should keep the spur concentric, but if one of the Ferodo pads(3 slipper pads) is not seated properly, it will cause the wobble you describe. the 3 pads need to be seated flat into the pockets of the spur gear for a consistent slip action as well as a true-spinning spur gear. I do occasionaly see a piece of flashing on these pads, but it is fairly easy to trim the excess flashing off the pad if it causes a less than ideal fit inside the spur pocket. :)

Hey thanks for the quick reply. Ya ,the one pad didn't want to go down flat.
I was thinking it would suck down when it was all together. Oh well. I'll take it apart and try it again. Thanks.

I had one that would only if flipped it over and turned it 180 degrees to where I had it to start with - try a few options before grinding...

Check for a bit of slag or excess hardening material in the pocket of the spur gear, too. I had to use a small pick to clean out the corners before the pads would sit properly.

You may also look at the springs, make sure they are overlapped properly. I did not read the instructions (looked at the pictures only) and had the two springs overlapped incorrectly and it caused a wobble in the spur.
