shift and not shifting
 

I have a three speed savage 4.6. I take it out and it does right one pass then the next it won't shift. Could some one tell me why this is? It sounds like I am going to blow the motor out of it. The next time it seems to shift like it has nothing wrong.

I took the tranny apart and tried to see if anything was in the spring of the shifter. It was clean. Could I have the shifting point to hi on it. I would adjust it more if not so difficult to do. :( Any suggestions.

it might be to high and your motor is only hitting that certain rpm only sometimes.

I was thinking that. Maybe in the rougher stuff the tires loose traction and it shifts with out me knowing it lost traction. I may drop it down and see what happens. I am starting to think the two speed is better. Be nice if could adjust it with out taking trans off truck and apart.
