from what i've heard, the 4mm bullet plugs can handle about 20% more power than deans connectors. hobbycity has recently made a new connector that uses 2 4mm bullet plugs within a red plastic shroud. the next time i order from hobby, i am getting about 20 of the 4mm connectors and converting all my stuff from deans.

Deans are direct surface contact, they have a contact area of about 10mm^2，rated at 60A. Current flows from one conductor plate to the other.

4mm bullets use multiple dot-contact, with a chinese-lantern-shaped intermedia conductor. current has to flow from one center conductor to the intermedia then to the outer tube. The number of contact dots differs from manufacturer to manufacturer. The best of them, the MC(Multi-Contact Inc, who invented the bullet system) rates their gold-plated 4mm bullet at 50A max.
