the cases are different, the HD case uses metal inserts for the cross pins in the diff, the stock case has the pins sitting in plastic grooves which they tend to wear into and foul the action of the diff.


get the HD for durability. Also- the case used on the HD is identical to that of the smart diff- so If you ever wanted to upgrade- just buy the smart diff internals.
