Progress on my e-maxx, Not going well

Here's some pic's of some progress I have made on my maxx. But I am having trouble with my bl. I connected the wires in series, and when I started to program the esc it would not program, no beeps , no smoke , no nothing. When I connect the wire to energize the system it sparks. I double checked all connections and can't find a problem. Oh yea I have a MX-3 receiver. Can someone help please!!

get out your voltmeter and see what the voltage is from those battery packs, it should be 14.4 with 2 7 cells. Also make sure your polarity's are 100% right.

Ok It is programing now and I have steering but no motor. Sorry I don't have a volt meter.
I hooked the packs to my charger and it shows 9.3 in each pack. I don't know if the charger is accurate or not.

No worries, I'm sure we can work this out!
Do you get the first beep?
My first guess is you should reverse the throttle channel on your radio.

A spark at connection is normal, btw. Nothing to worry about.

Yea I got all the beeps. I am one step ahead of you Dafni lol :027: I reversed it with no luck but I think it might be something like that because I was having trouble with the titans on. But with the titans on it ran the motors wide open when I reversed it. Thanks for the help this thing is getting on my last nerve :mad:1

You get all the beeps, and still can not run it? That's strange!
If you get all the beeps, the ESC recognizes your throttle signals.
Your EPAs are on 100%?

Crap! Do you have another radio to try?

mmdooley 02.24.2006 02:49 AM

Yea I have the original traxxas I will try it.

On my schulze, I had to set my throttle trim all the way down on my stock traxxas reciever in order for my esc to detect my reciever...this may be the same with the BK.

mmdooley, i myself had a problem with this! Are you using a UBEC, if you are , dont forget to unplug the black jumper, located a bit under the red one. Once you are done that , turn on your radio, than plug in the batts to the esc, (sparks are normal, i get them too!). Now, once you hear the first beep, right after HOLD full throttle till you hear the next one, RIGHT AFTER YOU HEAR THE BEEP, QUICKLY put it into reverse, you should hear a double beep after. For me i had the same problem (using a spektrum DX3) but i found out its all about the timing of when you hit the throttle(holding it until you hear the beep)

I would make sure your esc wire to the receiver is plugged all the way in to. I had that problem as well on a truck.
