nylon spurs

can the Kyosho 46 tooth nylon spurs be used with hardened pinions? is there a performance difference compared to the steel spurs? do they fit mugen diffs?

Yes you can use with hardened pinions. They weigh less; and less rotating mass equals quicker acceleration. Don't know if they fit Mugen. I like em because they are quiet.

i hope the plastic kyosho spur will fit my CEN matrix. i love the buggy, but the extreme "notchyness" of the motor makes it sound horrible. i filled the diff with 10k oil and it seems to have the same 4 bolt pattern. keeping my fingers crossed.

Quieter yes.

Quicker acceleration is kinda BS IMO. These brushless cars have so much torque and acceleration that traction is the only limiting factor. The tiny bit of weight/rotating mass that you save on that spur is no way going to be noticed. and certainly isnt gonna translate to faster acceleration Unless the plastic spur somehow can make the tires grip better.

I personally choose the durability of the steel gears over the little bit of noise.
