Anyone start modding their G2R yet?

I'm considering the purchase of either the complete G2R kit, or just the braces and a few other essentials (then use CF and make my own trays and accessory mounts). Just wanted to know if anyone has gone this route?

Have you seen the spyshots of my G3R?
Look in the Revo section and let me know what you think!

Dafni is the only one I know of right off. He made it up with a center diff.

I checked out Daf's setup. Nice work there. However, I'm shooting for more of a basher set up, so I would prefer to stay with the Emaxx forward/reverse tranny. One reason I'm not hip on buying the entire G2R setup is that as a basher, the so called "bling" of it will be shot in a month of playing. Oxidized and scratched aluminum looks worse than plastic in my opinion, so why pay for it? I'm thinking that CF battery trays should take the long term abuse better than AL will. I've got some thin wall AL round tubing that I'd like to incorporate into the battery tray set up - hoping to make them look like nerf bars.

He has two of them. He has a g2r and the evo with a emaxx tranny on it. Which one did you see?

JThiessen 02.26.2006 11:44 PM

I looked at both of them. I've started mine similar to the one he first did (havent we all?). My lack of quality tools at home have me looking at dropping some coin for professionally cut materials.

Don't know if its a mod or not, but i have the esc on the rear(evx and titans)

i bash my G2R, i know its so pretty when you unwrap everything , but you eventually get over it and trash the heck outta it. i bought it more for the durability factor. i've broken too many stock parts and could have built two trucks, also there is nothing left of the original kit. why did i buy it in the first place, oh well live and learn

coolhandcountry 03.01.2006 08:10 PM

How is the g2r holding up for everyone? I was thinking of getting one but not sure yet.

Coolhand, id reccomend getting one, and i bet you will be very happy once FLM comes out with 1/8 bulkess design. So far i love my g2r!

I haven't gone brushless yet, but it taken a beating and still running. Soon to have is a 7xl and an esc but not sure yet

Why "if they come out with the bulkless"...I'm not sure what bulkless implies, so I dont know what the benefits would be....

Are you referring to the original Revo, or the G2R?

coolhandcountry 03.01.2006 10:31 PM

bulkless is a combo or hybird bulk. It has the bulk heads and the diff case in one. The hybird will hold the 1/8 buggy diffs. like ue and hot bodies or ofna

Sylvester 03.02.2006 08:07 AM

Yea, and i was reffering to coolhand country to get one because if they do come out with bulkless, he will be able to run whatever power he wants to through the truck, because he loves speed and power, but who doesnt? :)

P.S: I dont know about bulkess using UE gears, because you have to use cvds, would UE cvds fit in a revo ?thats the question...
