CC BEC Pro Question
 
This BEC looks good for a project I'm planning, but I see that it is rated for different voltages depending on usage. I assume this is to compensate for braking voltages. My question is; can the full 12s lipo rating be used if I were to add several paralleled TVS devices across the input power leads?

I also have a question about the ICE ESCs pertaining to their data-logging capabilities. I know it can record only so much data, but are there any plans to offer some kind of add-on LCD display to monitor current and voltage in real-time as it is running with no time limit? I know Eagletree has this type of functionality with their optional LCD display, but it would be nice to avoid adding extra components if possible.

The issue is that if the 60V main MOSFET breaks down (avalanches) it can take the switcher controller with it. The MOSFET seems to take it just fine, but the controller is a little sensitive.

A few large parallel caps will help a lot, a few large TVS devices will also help. But so much depends on the actual setup it's hard for me to determine how much capacitance/TVS value will work well.

Yeah yeah! I'm here! (Sorry we released software for the ICE/Phoenix line yesterday -- and the release/beta testing/etc. have been taking up a lot of my time....)

Well, it's for an e-bike of sorts. Braking is not going to be instant on because I don't like flipping over and landing on my noggin. I would probably use motor brakes for 50% (rear - also using this to slow down) and mechanical brakes for the other 50% (front) of the braking power. It would be nice to have regen braking to extend battery life.
