C50 maxx motor vs a hacker 9L or 10L

hi guys i currently own a hacker c50 maxx motor running on 12 cells , i'm planning to upgrade it to a more powerful motor, 12-16 cells, i have a racebomb chassis with maximizer diffs front and rear, supermaxx idler gears on the tranny , what do you guys suggest planning to race it on a short tight track, that will not give me any heat problems, i do own a shulze 18.97 speed controller thank you for any input:003:

The c-50 maxx can be ran up to 16 cell's without a problem, some airplane guy's run it on even higher cell count's.

I'd buy another one anyway since the shaft won't last long on 16 cell's.(break's easely since it's so thin) The Wanderer 9xl will work great.

thanks but what will be the gear ratio 18/51? Is the wanderer 9 xl same as the hacker 9xl? has 5mm shaft ? using the ofna spur? thanks

The Wanderer / Feigao motor's are just like Hacker's, only with a pressed endbell and lower quality winding's.(meaning the hacker's are better, but also more then double the Wanderer's price tag.)

The wanderer 9xl has a 5 mm shaft and should be used with an ofna spur and strobe slipper. 18/51 is way to high. You should drop 1 tooth for every cell you add I once read here, but other people are better at gear ratio's than me.

If you got money to spend, get a Lehner 1950.

with stock diffs and a 9xl on 16 cells 18/51 is about right. i run 20/51 on 16 cells with a 10xl in a revo.

See I know nothing about ratio's lol.

I ran the 9xl on the 18.97. It is a good combo. 12 -16 cells should have no heat problems. get some good run time as well. I perfer the 9xl over the 9l. But that is just me.

luvsrc 02.28.2006 12:45 AM

hi coolhand what is the gear ratio you are running? thanks for the input

coolhandcountry 02.28.2006 08:58 AM

I have ran the 9xl on ratios from 20 51 to 14 51. Depends on what I was doing. The 20 51 on 20 cells is down right fast but the heat is a little much. 18 cells works well though. If you run the slower counts in cells you can run the 1851 gearing with no sweat. I run the 3.31 diffs to.
