No idea what the problem might be ??
Ok, My buddys has Slash and has ben having a nagging problem with it.
It's a intermitent problem, the truck just dies for a couple seconds and then suddenly resumes normal driving with no apparent reason ? When the truck dies there is no steering, no F&R nothing, act if the battery is unplugged. I've got rid of the stock AM in favor of a TRX 2.4, ditched the Velineon ESC for new Sidewinder, The Velineon motor was next and was replaced with a brand new Turnigy 2300kv running on 3s 5000mah ThunderPower 28c packs. Everything runs ambiant temps never any heat. On a hunch I thought maybe the stock servo? I replaced it also with a JR650 and STILL the problem persists ??? Slash Poltergeist  When the truck craps out I have yet to be able to catch it in time to see if the ESC has any lights on, it only stays dead for 2-3seconds. Can't duplicate during bench testing. Any body have any ideas ? The only thing I can think of is it could be is one of the Deans plugs are bad. |
Sounds like probably a bad solder or connection somewhere. You would think if the esc was taking a dump you would still have steering. Sounds like power is completely cutting from somewhere.

are u running the battery pack everytime? check all solder points to ensure good joints were made

One of the first things we examined when this problem started.
Thank You I really examined the AM system he had in there and the antena wire was really busted all to hell so I'm gonna look over the RRX 2.4 wire as well. |
Are you using the same lipo every time?

A-HA !
There is a cut on the 2.4 RX wire also. VERY HARD TO SEE. The TRX 2.4 RX wire is designed like a COAXIL cable with a super thin 5-6strand center wire with the outer wire braided with a semi hard exterior coating that cracks when bent excessively.(junk) The exterior wire was cut very cleanly and my old eyes needed a magnifying glass to see it. It's repaired and working normally. Was a serious bastard to solder, now the antenna wire is on the outside of the tube with a couple layers of heat shrink to protect it. Gonna half to run inside under the body now,but it's all good. Thanks for the effort guys ! BrainG or other mods, this thread might be of some help to others. If you feel it is not, please delete. |
