TeamNovak's "Build-A-Ballistic" Program

Next week we will introduce our new "Build-A-Ballistic" program to our store. This program allows customers to completely customize a Ballistic motor from the factory and have us assemble it for them.

The components that can be selected are:

~ wound Stator (16 choices)
~ bearings (ceramic or stainless steel)
~ rotor (3 choices)
~ input harness (3 lengths)
~ motor sleeve (5 choices)

~ +1300 graded rotors (NYA)

When we get the program on-line I will post a link. We also plan to offer customized motors to racers who wish to purchase Ballistics in quantity. Some international customers and tracks may run different winds---9.5 or 11.5.

Build-A-Ballistic™

Novak is offering customers the opportunity to customize their own Ballistic motor with Novak's new, exclusive Build-A-Ballistic™ program. Because of the Ballistic Brushless Motor's ingenious rebuildable design, drivers can choose among dozens of options to create their very own personalized Ballistic Brushless Motor.

The benefits are obvious! Only through Novak's Build-A-Ballistic™ program can racers pick-and-choose among specialty hand-wound stators, upgraded ceramic bearings and improved, superior-quality sintered rotors to create their own perfect motor.

To ensure the highest quality, each Build-A-Ballistic™ motor is built by Novak motor-assembly experts. Each motor is custom built, individually timed -- based on your chosen wind -- passes numerous stringent brushless motor tests and includes a 120-day warranty.
If you have suggestions or questions about the program, please post them here.

Interesting - does this pose challenges for spec classes. Nice idea saves buying bits you don't need.

How would this work for distributers?

About the only challenge would be the rotor; only our 12.3mm can be used for Spec racing. Our 13mm tuning rotor has grooves on the beveled shaft that can be identified without dis-assembling the motor. Our new 1300+ Graded Rotors are 12.3 mm, so they can also be used. (But, are not currently part of this program.)

All of our Spec wound stators have the colored ring/insert, designating the wind, installed. We will be designing a program early next year for distributors(mostly international) who may wish to customize motors for their markets.

Ever since we released the Ballistic, we have had requests for additional wound stator winds. We recently added the 9.5, 11.5, 18.5 and 25.5 wound stators. We also have a couple of "light" winds.

We are working on an additional spec rotor made from higher temp rare earth materials as an option, which we will add to the program later.

actually I already have 3 ballisitic motors. this is the first stator I have ordered separately though. figure I dont run 13.5 anymore so I might as well just change that one out to the 9.5 and run mod truck.

We built and shipped all of the B-A-B orders we received over the holiday week-end. All but one customer ordered with the ceramic bearings (and a lot of black sleeves.) We plan to collect orders and built them one day per week. Shipping within 10 shop days of receiving the orders.

It will be interesting to see how customers personalize these special orders. If we see a lot of orders for certain configurations, we may just offer those particular motors for sale.

Soon we will be including our 12.3mm 1300+ graded rotors as a choice (plus an additional charge.)

I figured most would order the ceramic bearings. If you are going to build a custom motor you might as well spend the extra couple $$$ for the better bearings.
