TeamNovak's "Build-A-Ballistic" Program
Next week we will introduce our new "Build-A-Ballistic" program to our store. This program allows customers to completely customize a Ballistic motor from the factory and have us assemble it for them.
The components that can be selected are: ~ wound Stator (16 choices) ~ bearings (ceramic or stainless steel) ~ rotor (3 choices) ~ input harness (3 lengths) ~ motor sleeve (5 choices) ~ +1300 graded rotors (NYA) When we get the program on-line I will post a link. We also plan to offer customized motors to racers who wish to purchase Ballistics in quantity. Some international customers and tracks may run different winds---9.5 or 11.5. |
Looks great on paper. anything new on the ballistic motors that we should know about :)

Interesting - does this pose challenges for spec classes. Nice idea saves buying bits you don't need.
How would this work for distributers? |

All of our Spec wound stators have the colored ring/insert, designating the wind, installed. We will be designing a program early next year for distributors(mostly international) who may wish to customize motors for their markets. Ever since we released the Ballistic, we have had requests for additional wound stator winds. We recently added the 9.5, 11.5, 18.5 and 25.5 wound stators. We also have a couple of "light" winds. We are working on an additional spec rotor made from higher temp rare earth materials as an option, which we will add to the program later. |
have my 9.5 on the way. looking forward to running all novak motors now in 10th scale.

We built and shipped all of the B-A-B orders we received over the holiday week-end. All but one customer ordered with the ceramic bearings (and a lot of black sleeves.) We plan to collect orders and built them one day per week. Shipping within 10 shop days of receiving the orders.
It will be interesting to see how customers personalize these special orders. If we see a lot of orders for certain configurations, we may just offer those particular motors for sale. Soon we will be including our 12.3mm 1300+ graded rotors as a choice (plus an additional charge.) |
I figured most would order the ceramic bearings. If you are going to build a custom motor you might as well spend the extra couple $$$ for the better bearings.
