Black Friday Sale....

Oh my.....http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...le_motors.html

They pretty much had me with just the sale....then I read this...

Neu-Castle 1520 1Y 1600kv motor is ideal for Monster trucks. This is the bad boy! Think in terms of a chipped turbo diesel...
I think they are intentionally trying to lure me in....

nitrostarter 11.25.2009 02:15 PM

I noticed the "chipped turbo diesel" line as well. Great analogy! and Hook line and sinker for me as well. I guess I need to find a good Muggy...

JThiessen 11.25.2009 02:28 PM

Yeah, I can use that in my LST.

I was suprised to see the 16.8V limit in the chart though. I thought it would be the same as the 1515 line.

magman 11.25.2009 02:40 PM

The 1518 1800kv would be sweeeeet in my truggy. It states that it has more torque than the 2200...like I really need more tourque!

I also noticed that all of the new motors were only good for up to 5s

I'm not sure of the reasoning here, unless there is a 30K rpm limit.... Or they imposed the 16.8v limit to keep the amp draw down some they are runnable on the MMM in most applications.

I can't wait until the ICE HV160 comes out!

magman 11.25.2009 02:45 PM

Probably just trying to extend longevity of the motor by not pushing it's limits

Pdelcast 11.25.2009 02:48 PM

Nahh, it was a typo --

Only the 2650 motor has a 4S limitation. The other motors are 6S.

I'm gonna get our web guy to fix it now...

BrianG 11.25.2009 02:49 PM

I know many larger motors tend to have lower rpm limits; I wonder if it's the same here?

Edit. I guess not, lol.

Also, "connector" is spelled incorrectly in their chart.

Grateful to hear this! That 4s limit was starting to rain on my party.

Patrick: Any testing on these motors on over 6s? like the 1717 or 1520 on 8s? I'm thinking those setups could be real speed demon for some top speed running.

Chart updated.

Also, the 1512/1.5Y was listed as 120A, it's an 80A motor.
