Which lipo to get?
Heya,
I'm in the market for a new lipo. I already have a NeuEnergy 6s 5000mah 30/60C lipo but i'd like to buy another. Basically, the NeuEnergy was VERY expensive because it's top of the range and has enerland (or very good) cells in it, as well as a high discharge rate. I don't want to spend that money so i'm looking at cheaper brands. I've picked out a few, but i'm having a hard time telling the differences between them, and am wondering if any of you guys have had any experience with any of them. Anyways, these are the lipo's i've looked at so far... ZIPPY Flightmax 5000mAh 6S1P 40C http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=9965 ZIPPY Flightmax 5000mAh 6S1P 30C http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=8590 ZIPPY Flightmax 5800mAh 6S1P 30C http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=9935 Turnigy 5000mAh 6S 35C Lipo Pack http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/s...dProduct=10095 Turnigy 5000mAh 6S 30C Lipo Pack http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=9518 ZIPPY-H 5000mAh 6S1P 20-30C Lipoly Pack http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6353 I know people really like Zippy's, but I remember being told that the R series was better than the H series? I don't really know much about Turnigy... Will any of these perform the same as my NeuEnergy lipo's? I'm guessing none of them have enerland cells. If these don't cut it (im a performance freak, I like mad wheelies and 80+mph) then I might have to bite the bullet and buy another quality lipo such as Hyperion, Thunder Power, PolyQuest, PolyRC, Flight Power etc.. But I REALLY don't want to spend that much if I don't have to... Any help/advice greatly appreciated as always!! |
Hyperion cx are a WAY better value.. much better lipo as well.

are you saying the Zippy's/Turnigy's really arn't up to par with the more expensive lipo's?

Its the QC that lets them down more than anything (occasional bad cells and dodgy soldering). For a top end machine, and a dragster at that basically, you want the best lipos available. The 40c hobbycity lipos might be worth a punt, and I will be trying them myself (hopefully), though the Hyperions would be the best value for money in terms of 'premium' lipos.

I have ran the crap out of my Turnigy batteries for a year (30c and 40c) and they still work perfect! But I must add I always balance charge!!!

Forget the saying "You get what you pay for" to start your choice. I got completely reversed result from the saying.
