Is there normal for the drive cup to wobble abit?

I notice my slip diff's drive cup wobbles(can move up n down like 1-2mm) so I took it out n check the cups. Hv not open it yet but is it wear n tear? Must I change the cups?

The bearings is still ok.

If the diff outdrives are wobbling, it sounds more like the endcaps are worn. 1-2mm of play is pretty excessive movement. I grease my outdrives and haven't worn out any caps, but I do have steel endcaps available as an option parts - they are about 2x as heavy as the aluminum caps, but are hardened steel and should last pretty much forever. :)

Mike, whats twice as heavy in grams? (or ounces or any other medieval unit you keep using  )

The front and rear cap made from steel weigh a total of 30 medieval gram units(1.06 medieval ounce units). The stock parts weigh a total of about 10 medieval gram units, so the steel parts are actually 3x as heavy(just weighed the parts) . :)

medieval what now? what is the weight of the whole slipperential? (preferrably 46t mod 1 with both steel endcaps, incl bearings if it's easier)

also, what is the total width from outdrive end to outdrive end? ..cheers
